SADC MOH MEETING SET TO OPEN IN POLOKWANE

The Southern African Development community (SADC) Ministers of Health meeting is set to open in Polokwane, South Africa November 9 2017.
Minister of Health Dr Chitalu Chilufya is expected to attend the
regional meeting.
Member States will discuss health and leadership related issues
affecting the SADC region.
Dr Victor Mukonka, Director of  the Zambia National Public Health  Institute,  which the SADC regional hub of the Africa Centre for
Disease Control and prevention (CDC), says Member States will discuss   Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS,  health
emergencies and disease outbreaks.
The countries will also discuss how they can address challenges of
human resource for health, elimination of Malaria, implementation of universal health coverage and innovative health care financing to meet the Sustainable Development Goals.
Further, the Member States are expected to launch the report on
Malaria at gala dinner and commemorate the SADC malaria day.
