Health Infrastructure Development

For the purposes of provision of health services Lusaka has been divided in to eight zones. In these zones new Health Posts and Centres will be constructed in due course. In order to also provide district level hospital (Level 1) services the eight zones have further been regrouped into four zones.
 

Five existing Health Centres will, in the process, be upgraded into
Level 1 Hospital. These health centres are namely:
 
1. Kanyama
2. Chawama
3. Matero Ref.
4. Chipata and
5. Chilenje
 
A provincial hospital(Level 2) is also being constructed and much progress has already been achieved. The Lusaka General Hospital is being constructed in Chainama area. Below are construction pictures.
