
Ministry of Health- Director, Health Promotion, Environment and Social Determinants Dr. Abel Kabalo officially opens the TASKPEN External Stakeholders Engagement Workshop.
The team is preparing a study, dubbed mixed methods of formative research and pilot testing of a task-shifted adaptation of the WHO-Package of Essential NCDs intervention to address cardio-metabolic complications in people living with HIV in Zambia.
The 3 years study is two phased: 1st phase is formative and the 2nd phase interventional. The aim is to inform policy on NCDs prevention and control using primary health care approach.
The Director re-echoed the need to put NCDs prevention and control into the fore, in order to prevent morbidity and premature mortality in line with Global SDGs.
The workshop has drawn participation from the academia, public and private sector, and NGOs, supported by CIDRZ.
