NEW YEAR MESSAGE TO HEALTH WORKERS BY THE HON. MINISTER OF HEALTH, DR. ELIJAH MUCHIMA, MP.
My Fellow Health Workers,
As we stand on the threshold of a new year, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering dedication and resilience throughout the past year. Your commitment to the health and well-being of our communities has been nothing short of inspiring.
Today, we pause to salute your contribution towards the attainment of the shared vision ‘A Nation of Healthy and Productive People’, having directly and indirectly invested in the health sector through your noble service.
The year 2024 presented numerous challenges, such as the devastating Cholera outbreak we experienced, however, your professionalism and compassion shone brightly, ensuring that our citizens received the care they needed. You have gone above and beyond, often at great personal sacrifice, to meet the demands of your noble roles.
The Government of Zambia, through the Ministry of Health recognises your resilience, dedication and selflessness towards service. Your effort in combating communicable, non-communicable, re-emerging diseases and other health challenges has not gone unnoticed.
As we welcome 2025, let us take a moment to reflect on our achievements and the lives we have touched. We have made significant strides in improving healthcare access and outcomes, and I am confident that we will continue this important work in the coming year.
Thank you for your unyielding spirit and for being the backbone of our healthcare system and a cornerstone of our national development. Let this new year be a time for renewed hope, strength, and unity.
May the new year bring you, not only professional success, but also personal fulfillment and happiness. Wishing you and your loved ones, a prosperous and healthy 2025!
