HEALTH Minister Chitalu CHILUFYA has urged corporate entities to include wellness programs in their work policy.
Dr CHILUFUA says mainstreaming health in places of work will help in bringing down the high morbidity ratio currently affecting the corporate world a conduit to poverty.
He added that the affluent society faces a high risk of non-communicable diseases such as prostate, breast and cervical cancer which can be prevented through adoption of positive lifestyles.
He was speaking at his office in Lusaka when he received a 1-hundred and 9-thousand-kwacha cheque donated to Cancer Diseases Hospital by PriceWater House Coopers Limited-PwC.
And speaking earlier, PwC Partner Andrew CHIBUYE says the company will continue engaging with government in its quest to improve the quality of health care
Meanwhile, Cancer Diseases Hospital Senior Medical Superintendent LEWIS BANDA has disclosed that the facility has continued to record a high number of cancer cases to the tune of two thousand five hundred per annum adding that it has been conducting eight thousand reviews since 2008.
He has however, thanked PWC for the gesture and promised to put the donated funds to good use by bettering the lives of patients in need of help.
