President Edgar Lungu today commissioned the US$2 Million state of the art Medical Stores Limited Mpika Regional Hub.
The construction of regional storage and distribution hub is aimed at enhancing the last mile distribution in the supply chain.
The Mpika Regional hub will carter for Muchinga and Northern provinces. Other Regional hubs that have been constructed and awaits commissioning are Chipata and Mansa.
Other hubs under construction are Luanshya, Choma, Mongu and Kabompo,
“The supply chain system in the health sector includes essential medicines supplies and commodities which are key pillars in the quest to promptly and effectively diagnose and treat various ailments affecting the people,” President Lungu said when he commissioned the newly constructed Mpika Regional Hub.
The construction of the hubs is aimed at improving the availability of medicines through the decentralisation of Medical Stores Limited.
